US Tax Manager

Up to $105k USD plus bonus

No Cayman Islands taxation will be imposed on the earnings while working in the Cayman Islands. In addition, successful candidates will also experience the enhanced lifestyle offered in Cayman.

The Tax Services team works with their clients to minimize their tax liabilities and ensure their organization complies with local, federal and international tax law.  The Cayman Islands are a tax-free domicile; however our clients are offshore companies, operating around the world.  The firm offers a fresh look at our client’s tax position with an eye towards broader business objectives.  The firm works closely with our clients to understand the organization’s global goals and strategies and how industry and economic trends affect their business.  The firm provides a wide range of tax planning and compliance assistance to hedge funds, captive insurance companies and individuals.  The firm also develops tax strategies that work and help streamline compliance processes.

About you

As a tax manager, you will coordinate and ensure that team members provide superior consultative tax advice and impeccable guidance, in order to help the firm's clients achieve real tax savings.  You will be responsible for providing tax compliance and consulting services for a range of investment, hedge fund and insurance companies and act as a reviewer of your team member’s work. Acting as a trusted business advisor, you will build strong client relationships by providing valued tax advice.  As a tax manager, you have responsibility for the development and motivation of team members and provide them with leadership, counseling and career guidance.

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent in accounting, finance, or other business related field.
  • Internationally recognized professional accounting qualification or Master’s degree in U.S. taxation (M.S.T.), U.S. Law degree (J.D.) and/or L.L.M. in U.S. taxation is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ practical experience in a public practice firm and/or relevant asset management industry experience.  Supervisory experience is particularly desirable.
  • Exposure to and understanding of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and partnership and international tax is required.
  • Experience in assisting with the development of new business is strongly preferred.
