Our client is an Insurtech product and software consultancy company catering to the re/insurance and capital markets. Our client develops risk analytics and simulation software in addition to bespoke fund and portfolio management solutions for top re/insurers globally.

IP Technical Analyst & Patent Analyst

Join our agile team developing innovative technology and products. We are looking for an IP Technical Analyst/Patent Agent able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and take part in the development and maintenance of our broad intellectual property portfolio. The successful candidate will help facilitate invention disclosure harvesting, interact closely with R&D scientists, and perform patentability and freedom to operate analyses. Must have prior intellectual property experience and/or patent agent registration experience.


About you

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist with preparation and prosecution of patent applications and Office Actions before the various jurisdictional Patent and Trademark Offices ?
  • Interact with R&D scientists to harvest inventions and review invention disclosures ?
  • Perform prior art searches and patentability analyses ?
  • Assist in freedom-to-operate analyses and other patent-related opinion projects ?
  • Maintain databases of patent information ?
  • Review IP for products throughout the product development lifecycle including assigning licenses for royalty payments ?
  • Attend research group meetings and stay up to date with competitor technologies and products ?


Education and Experience Requirements: ?

We are looking for someone with Intellectual property experience and/or patent agent registration experience and three + years’ experience in this area who can take owner of this area within the business.

  • Masters or Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, or related field ?
  • Intellectual property experience and/or patent agent registration experience ?
  • Outstanding English oral and written communication skills ?
  • Strong analytical, research, interpersonal, and organizational skills ?
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills ?
  • Ability to organize work priorities and effective time management skills ?
  • Ability to make decisions and quickly resolve problems in a fast-paced environment while ?ensuring appropriate risk management and proper escalation / notification procedures are carried out ?

Our client is looking to hire this person to work directly on the various projects that have been developed by the consultancy. You will be involved in full end to end patenting of this product. There are some patient files in place for core products that you will need to assist in developing further for end client which are legal and financial firms across the world.

Ideally you will have a strong understanding of the and occasional international travel might be required to meet end clients. You will be heavily involved in business analyst, gathering requirements and filing and patenting processes.
