What Experience is Needed?

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field is often preferred 
  • Proficiency in programming languages is essential for working in DevOps or SRE roles. Knowledge of languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, Go, or Shell scripting is commonly required. 
  • Familiarity with various operating systems like Linux, Unix, and Windows is important 
  • Experience with automation tools and configuration management systems is crucial. Examples include tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform 
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) 
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is valuable. 
  • While not mandatory, certifications can provide additional credibility and demonstrate your expertise. Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Kubernetes certifications can be beneficial.
