With most of the world's funds domiciled in offshore jurisdictions, there are many investment management and analysis opportunities offshore; however, as 70% of funds are domiciled in Cayman, this tends to be where the bulk of investment jobs are based.


The day-to-day work in investment management and analysis will mainly comprise analysing potential investments, conducting research/due diligence, writing investment recommendations, and monitoring existing investments. In addition, you can expect to perform valuations of direct and private equity investments.

What Experience is Needed?

To be considered for an investment management or analysis role, you must be a fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA), be a qualified CFA or be working towards completing the designation. Experience auditing funds, fund accounting experience, or prior experience working as an accountant within an investment management firm would be required to be considered for these positions.

This area is highly unpredictable and largely depends on how winds blow for UHNW family offices. Some of the offshore world's most successful people exist in this space, but it is also exceedingly small and challenging to crack into.
