What to Expect:

Generally speaking, Cyber Security is quite a new area here for tech professionals – historically a lot of companies didn’t place much focus on this area and left much of the security up to compliance teams rather than having a strong emphasis from a technology base, so quite a lot of the time you might be starting from an early base. This gives rise to the opportunity then to really put your mark on the company in terms of which security software they use.

What Experience is Needed?

As with many of the positions in the technology industry offshore, relevant certifications are highly sought after for new hires (many clients in the security space seek individuals with certs such as CIISP) alongside a strong working background within Cyber Security. For positions working with MSPs, candidates will need to have prior experience of being front-facing and dealing with clients.

As the Cyber Security space is relatively a new niche on island, some of the positions we see are hybrid networking security positions so sometimes a strong knowledge of networking is also required.
