Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

First off, I wanted to let you know that I’ve been a REALLY good girl this year. If my mother tells you otherwise please ignore her – she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

I hope you’ve had a great year. Mine hasn’t been too bad I guess! I went to Boston in January – I got to see snow! You probably wouldn’t share my enthusiasm too much though, would you? You’re probably so sick of the snow since you’ve been up at the North Pole for so long. I thought it was great though… I didn’t get to experience a sleigh ride but I did get to go on a bus. It took me all the way up to Wrentham Village where I did lots of shopping. Actually, there were a few things you forgot to leave for me last Christmas so I thought I would save you the trip back and get it all myself. I know what you’re thinking – I’m so thoughtful!

So do you get away from the North Pole much, or are you limited in the time you can take off? I also had the opportunity to go to Ireland in June. It was my first trip to Europe. You’ve probably been there a gazillion times. What’s your favourite part? We went up to Newgrange – which believe it or not is WAY older than you. It was built before the pyramids, how cool is that! You should go past there whilst you’re doing your deliveries this Christmas. It really is amazing.

I also went to New York this year. I was actually there a couple of weeks ago and was able to go ice-skating in Central Park. Do you have ice-skating at the North Pole? Have you ever tried it? Or are you a little worried that your weight my cause you to break the ice and fall in? I could leave you skinny milk on Christmas Eve if you think that would help? You really have to try it one day, so a diet could be a good place to start.

Well anyway, I know you have a lot to get through over the next couple of months so I’ll wrap up here. I just wanted to thank you so so so much for my presents last year. They were all great. You didn’t get me anything that was on my Santa List, so you may need to get your eyes checked. Or maybe one of the elves can start reading out to you if that makes it easier?

Before I go, I just want to remind you that I’ve been really good this year. I’ve been working really hard (if my boss tells you otherwise you can ignore him too!), I’ve joined a gym (I’ve been once, but everyone has to start somewhere!!), and my New Year’s resolution was to not have ANY coke for a year. I’m proud (and surprised!) to say that so far so good! I smelt a coke a few weeks ago, but didn’t actually drink any of it.

I’m sure you’d agree that not only have I demonstrated how good I’ve been, I’ve also done a lot for you – went shopping for you in Boston so you didn’t have to do a non-Christmas trip all the way back here; offered healthy eating tips so you can go ice-skating; and I’m very grateful for my presents last year EVEN THOUGH they weren’t ones that I asked for.

So, can I please have a puppy?

Yours Sincerely,
Abbey
