When should I apply for Cayman Islands Permanent Residency?

by Emma-Jane Fisher on October 24, 2024

Is it time to consider applying for PR?

In most cases, once you have been legally and ordinarily resident in the Cayman Islands for eight years, you may start the application process for permanent residency. Your application can be submitted anytime before the end of your ninth year.

Even though you would only submit your application after your eighth year, becoming a permanent resident in the Cayman Islands is comprehensive, so it is advisable to consider the road ahead in advance. Consulting with one of our PR Immigration experts with ample time before your deadline will provide you with the knowledge and support you need in preparation for your application.

If you are serious about making the Cayman Islands your home, then it is never too early for an initial consultation to review the current point system. Our 1:1 consultation will guide you through the nine different point factors explaining how you can earn points towards your PR application. If you are already nearing the end of your 7th year or moving into your 8th year on island, then I would recommend a consultation before starting to collate your documents for your application.
