The Benefits of Team-Building

Last Friday afternoon, the CML Recruitment closed our doors early to host a team-building afternoon.

The main aim of this meeting was for the CML team to come together as a unit to test different team-building exercises. These exercises, such as “Two Truths & A Lie” ignited a fun and cooperative environment where the team was able to learn more about one another. This also brought up some interesting facts about our team; amongst us, we have a chocolatier, a krypton factor finalist, a blue peter badge holder and plenty of musicians!

Afterwards, the CML team decided to take on bowling to utilize our new team skills. With our new skills, we were able to communicate and work better together as a team. We had a blast! To be honest, the competition was tough, but in the end, Chris Turrell and Jamie Ware were the top bowlers at CML!

I have to say, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the team-building afternoon and are dedicated to hosting more events regularly. If you are an employer or member of a business or organization, I highly encourage you to implement a few exercises.

The Benefits of Team Building

The main goal of team-building exercises are to help improve productivity and motivation. Meeting with employees outside of an office setting will help your team break down political and personal barriers, eliminate distractions and work concerns, and most importantly, have fun. Here is a list of benefits of team building:

  • Improves morale and leadership skills
  • Clearly defines objectives and goals
  • Improves processes and procedures
  • Improves organizational and individual productivity
  • Identifies a team’s strengths and weaknesses
  • Enhances the ability to problem solve
