Team building – How to bring your team closer together…

by Louise on October 14, 2011

There are many different ways to facilitate team bonding, and I believe it is always good to be as creative as possible when considered how to bring a team of people closer together.

I wanted to share with you a team building exercise that I tried in the past and found quite useful; I was reminded of it by my ‘old man’ who often uses it as an ice breaker when delivering Leadership and Professional Coaching workshops in his work back in the UK.

The exercise centres around asking all members of the team to create a Heraldic Shield. For those that don’t know, Heraldy is the profession, study or art of creating, granting, and blazoning arms, and many years ago all families would have had a shield like this that acted as a coat of arms for the family; see below for my own families version.
